This paper develops a general theory of \(D\)-modules on Poisson varieties. Let us recall that a right \(D\)-module is naturally associated with each Poisson algebraic variety \(X\). When \(X\) is affine with finite symplectic leaves, the space of Poisson traces on \(X\) is finite-dimensional. Whereas the notion of traces is simple, Poisson traces are not so easy to understand since the definition is not local. In this work, the author solves the problem by considering a right \(D\)-module which is local with respect to the Poisson manifold. The author also describes the finite-dimensional space of Poisson traces in the case where the Poisson manifold \(X\) is of the form \(V| G\), \(V\) being symplectic and \(G\) a finite group acting faithfully on \(V\).
