Harmonic Tutte polynomials of matroids (Q6041585)

The authors build on classical research presented by Tutte, Crapo, Greene, Delsarte, Bachoc, and Tanabe by proposing harmonic Tutte polynomials associated with a harmonic function of a certain degree. Furthermore, they provide a Greene-type identity that relates the harmonic weight enumerator of a code and the harmonic Tutte polynomial of the matroid corresponding to the code. As an application of the generalized Green identity, the authors give a combinatorial proof of \textit{C. Bachoc} [DIMACS, Ser. Discrete Math. Theor. Comput. Sci. 56, 1--23 (2001; Zbl 1017.94012)] and \textit{K. Tanabe}'s MacWilliams-type identity [Des. Codes Cryptography 22, No. 2, 149--155 (2001; Zbl 0987.94040)].
