Let \(\mathcal{T}(X)\) be the monoid of all full transformations of a nonempty set \(X\) under composition. Let the set \(X\) is equipped with an order relation \(\leq\) such that \(X\) becomes a chain. The set of all order-preserving transformations of \(X\) forms a subsemigroup of \(\mathcal{T}(X)\) which is denoted by \(\mathcal{O}(X)\). The aim of the paper is to investigate the following subsemigroup of \(\mathcal{O}(X)\): \(\mathcal{OF}(X, Y)=\{\alpha \in \mathcal{O}(X) \mid \mathrm{im}(\alpha) = Y\alpha \}\), where \(Y\) is a nonempty finite subset of \(X\). The main result is the characterization of the structure of the idempotent generating sets of \(\mathcal{OF}(X, Y)\). As applications, the authors compute the number of distinct minimal idempotent generating sets of this semigroup. The maximal subsemibands and the maximal regular subsemibands of \(\mathcal{OF}(X, Y)\) are determined.
