\textit{D. Gallo} et al. [Ann. Math. (2) 151, No. 2, 625--704 (2000; Zbl 0977.30028)] proved that every non-elementary representation of a surface group to \(\mbox{PSL}_2(\mathbb{C})\) is the holonomy of a projective structure, possibly with one branched point of order \(2\). The author asserts that there is a gap in the proof of this result and eliminates it. He introduces so-called pentagon representations of the fundamental group of a closed surface of genus 2 to \(\mbox{PSL}_2(\mathbb{C})\) and shows in Theorem 1.4 that the set of such representations coincides with the class of non-elementary \(\mbox{PSL}_2(\mathbb{C})\)-representations of the surface group that do not admit a Schottky decomposition. This fact allows to give a correct proof of the statement by D. Gallo et al..
