The Schur multiplier \(M(G)\) of a finite group \(G\) is defined as the second cohomology group of \(G\) with coefficients in \(\mathbb C^*\) The following question is open: is it true that every finite abelian \(p\)-group is isomorphic to the Schur multiplier of some non-abelian finite \(p\)-group? The author gives a partial answer proving that given a natural number \(n\) and an odd prime \(p,\) there exists a non-abelian \(p\)-group whose Schur multiplier is elementary abelian of order \(p^n.\)
