A contact manifold $(M,\eta)$ is called regular if the Reeb vector field $\xi$ of the contact form $\eta$ determines a regular 1-dimensional foliation on $M$. A normal contact metric manifold is known as Sasakian manifold. \textit{I. Hasegawa} [``A note on hypersurfaces in a Sasakian space form'', J. Hokkaido Univ. Ed. Sect. II A 41, 1--9 (1990)] established that a Sasakian space form with non-constant sectional curvature does not admit Einstein hypersurfaces. Analogously, the authors prove that if a regular Sasakian manifold fibers onto a complex Stein manifold, then the manifold does not admit any complete Einstein hypersurface tangent to $\xi$. To prove the result, the authors use the natural CR structure of codimension 2 which is induced over any smooth hypersurface under the assumption that the hypersurface is tangent to the Reeb vector field $\xi$.
