This paper considers the Cauchy problem for the discrete non-homogeneous linear evolution equation \[ u_t+\Delta_du=f, \] where \(\Delta_d\) stands for the discrete Laplacian operator (with negative sign), on the higher-dimensional lattice \(\mathbb{Z}^d\), \(d\geq 1\). The main results of the paper concern the proof of \(\ell^p-\ell^q\) estimates and endpoint estimates for the maximal regularity of the solutions. The very interesting and non-trivial proofs incorporate kernel estimates for the semigroup \(\exp[-t\Delta_d]\). The maximal regularity estimates involve weighted sequence spaces and discrete Besov spaces. It is expected that the results of the paper will find striking applications for the study of relevant semilinear discrete evolution equations.
