Rational solutions \(x,y,z\) of the system of equations \(xyz=1,x+y+z=n\) are considered. \textit{M. Z. Garaev} [in: Analytic number theory and applications. Collected papers in honor of the sixtieth birthday of Professor Anatolii Alexeevich Karatsuba. Moscow: MAIK Nauka/Interperiodica Publishing. 94--103 (1997; Zbl 0930.11014); translation from Tr. Mat. Inst. Steklova 218, 99--108 (1997)] proved that if \(n\) is of the form \(4k, 8k-1\) or \(2^{2m+1}(2k-1)+3\), where \(k,m \in\mathbb{N}\), then there are no rational solutions. Following and extending a result of \textit{Nguyen Xuan Tho} [Rocky Mt. J. Math. 52, No. 2, 717--726 (2022; Zbl 1498.11097)], the author considers nonexistence of rational solutions \(x,y,z\) of the system \(xyz=a,x+y+z=an\) under various conditions on \(a,n\in\mathbb{N}\).
