A smooth non-degenerate rational curve \(C\) of degree \(d\) contained in \(\mathbb{P}^s(\mathbb{C})\) can be obtained by projecting a rational normal curve of degree \(d\) in \(\mathbb{P}^d(\mathbb{C})\) from a linear space \(L\) of dimension \(d-s-1\) through a morphism \(f:\mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{C})\rightarrow \mathbb{P}^s(\mathbb{C})\). The normal bundle of \(C\) splits as a direct sum of line bundles whose tuple of degrees are calculated by previous works of the authors [\textit{A. Alzati} and \textit{R. Re}, Algebr. Geom. 4, No. 1, 79--103 (2017; Zbl 1369.14066); \textit{A. Alzati} et al., Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo (2) 67, No. 2, 291--306 (2018; Zbl 1401.14153)] when (the ideal of) \(C\) is monomial. After recalling the background in section 2, in section 3 they associated to \(C\) a monomial rational curve \(CA\) to prove (Theorem 3) a bound in the dimension of the space of global sections of the normal bundle of \(C\) by the one of \(CA\). This implies a bound in the tuple of degrees of \(C\) by the one of \(CA\). Section 4 gives some applications of this (Corollary 4).
