Asymptotics, Turán inequalities, and the distribution of the BG-rank and 2-quotient rank of partitions (Q6062816)

This paper studies the distribution of two partition statistics: the 2-quotient rank and the BG-rank, both due to \textit{A. Berkovich} and \textit{F. G. Garvan} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 358, No. 2, 703--726 (2006; Zbl 1088.11073)]. By means of Wright's variant of the circle method, asymptotic formulas are obtained for the number \(\overline{p}_j(n)\) of partitions of \(n\) with BG-rank \(j\), and for the number \(\overline{p}_j(a, b; n)\) of partitions of \(n\) with BG-rank \(j\) and 2-quotient rank congruent to \(a\) modulo \(b\). In particular, equidistribution modulo \(b\) is shown. Moreover, the authors prove that both \(\overline{p}_j(a, b; 2n)\) and \(\overline{p}_j(2n)\) asymptotically satisfy all higher order Turán inequalities.
