Let \(X\) be a finite dimensional space and \(Y \subset X\) be a proper subspace. A classical constant well studied in the literature is \(\inf\{\|P\|:~P: X \rightarrow Y~,~P\text{ is a linear projection}\}\). Of particular interest is the case when the infimum is attained by unique contraction. This paper has severals answers for this type of questions, particularly when \(X\) is a polyhedral space. Here Theorem 4.3 assets that this is the case, when \(Y\) is in a `general position', a technical condition involving the dimensions of \(Y\) and \(X\).
