The \(r\)-circulant matrix \(C_r(c_0,\dots,c_{n-1})\) is obtained [\textit{R. E. Cline} et al., Linear Algebra Appl. 8, 25--33 (1974; Zbl 0273.15004)] from the circulant matrix \(C(c_0,\dots,c_{n-1})\) by multiplying all entries below the main diagonal with \(r\). The \(k\)-Mersenne numbers are defined [\textit{K. Uslu} and \textit{V. Deniz}, Adv. Appl. Discrete Math. 18, No. 4, 413--423 (2017; Zbl 1499.11028)] by \[ M_{k,\lambda+1}=3kM_{k,\lambda}-2M_{k,\lambda-1},\quad M_{k,0}=0,\,M_{k,1}=1. \] The \(k\)-Mersenne-Lucas numbers are defined [\textit{M. Chelgham} and \textit{A. Boussayoud}, Notes Number Theory Discrete Math. 27, No. 1, 7--13 (2021; \url{doi:10.7546/nntdm.2021.27.1.7-13})] by \[ R_{k,\lambda+1}=3kR_{k,\lambda}-2R_{k,\lambda-1},\quad R_{k,0}=2,\,R_{k,1}=3k. \] The authors study the eigenvalues and four well-known norms of the matrices \(C_r(c_0,\dots,c_{n-1})\) with \(c_i=M_{k+a+ib}\) and \(c_i=R_{k+a+ib}\). Reviewer's remarks: According to the authors (p. 524), \(a\) and \(b\) are integers. Actually they must be nonnegative, because \(M_{k,\lambda}\) and \(R_{k,\lambda}\) must have \(\lambda\ge 0\). Lemmas 1--3 should have references.
