Given a ring \(R\), an ideal \(I\) is called an annihilator ideal if \(I=\mathrm{ann}(J)\) for some ideal \(J\) where \( \mathrm{ann}(J) = \{r \in R \mid rb = br = 0 \text{ for any } b \in J \}\). The paper submitted is on the annihilator ideals of Leavitt path algebras and \(C^*\)- graph algebras. The author provides necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of annihilator ideals in terms of graph theoretic properties in Theorem 3.14. Corollary 3.19 states that if \(I\) is an annihilator ideal of Leavitt path algebra, then each graded ideal is an annihilator ideal if and only if each graded ideal of \(I\) and each graded ideal of the quotient by \(I\) are annihilator ideals. Last section, gives analogues of the results for gauge-invariant closed ideals in graph \(C^*\)-algebras in Theorem 4.4. Note that as the author mentions, annihilator ideals are called regular ideals in the earlier literature on both \(C^*\)-graph algebras and Leavitt path algebras.
