The authors introduce the notion of equi-nuclearity for uniform Roe algebras (the definition is rather lengthy and we do not reproduce it here). The main result of the paper is the following theorem: Let \((X,d)\) be a metric space with bounded geometry. Suppose that for all \(R>0\) and \(\varepsilon>0\) there is a partition of unity \(\{\phi_i\}_{i=1}^\infty\) on \(X\) such that {\parindent7mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] for all \(x,y,\in X\) with \(d(x,y)<R\) the inequality \(\sum_{i=1}^\infty|\phi_i(x)-\phi_i(y)|\leq\varepsilon\) holds, \item[(2)] the partition \(\{\phi_i\}_{i=1}^\infty\) is subordinate to a family of subspaces \(\{X_i\}_{i=1}^\infty\) of the metric space \(X\) and the uniform Roe algebras \(\{C_u^*(X_i)\}_{i=1}^\infty\) are equi-nuclear. \end{itemize}} Then the uniform Roe algebra \(C_u^{*}(X)\) is nuclear.
