The article introduces the class of \(MO_{\mathcal{P}}\)-functions over a Beurling generalized prime number system \(\mathcal{P}\). It consists of the multiplicative functions \(f\) (over \(\mathcal{P}\)) having sum \(0\) and for which \(\sum_{k = 0}^{\infty} f(p^{k}) \neq 0\) for every generalized prime \(p\). First some general properties of this class are studied. Then the two specific functions \(\mu_{\mathcal{P}}(n)/n\) and \(a_{\mathcal{P}}(n)/n^{\alpha}\), where \(\alpha\) is a complex number, are discussed in detail. Here \(\mu_{\mathcal{P}}\) is the generalized Moebius function and \[ a_{\mathcal{P}}(n) = \begin{cases} 1- p_0 & \text{if } p_0 | n,\\ 1 & \text{otherwise}, \end{cases} \] for some fixed generalized prime \(p_0\). The paper ends with the conjecture that for each generalized Beurling system \(\mathcal{P}\) with abscissa of convergence \(1\), all functions \(f \in MO_{\mathcal{P}}\) must satisfy \[ \sum_{n \leq x} f(n) = \Omega(x^{-1/2}). \]
