The authors introduce the notion of ``quasi-monotone convergence'' for a sequence of quasi-psh functions on a compact Kähler manifold using plurisubharmonic envelopes. The idea is as follows. Let \((X,\omega)\) be a compact Kähler manifold, and \((\varphi_j)_j\) be a sequence of \(\omega\)-psh functions converging in \(L^1\) to an \(\omega\)-psh function \(\varphi\). We know that \(\inf_{l \ge j} \varphi_l\) is a function which might not be \(\omega\)-psh. Hence one considers the envelope \(P_\omega(\inf_{l \ge j} \varphi_l)\) which forms an increasing sequence of \(\omega\)-psh functions (when the envelope is well-defined). This sequence increases to a function which is smaller or equal to \(\varphi\) in general. In the paper under review, \(\varphi_j\) is said to quasi-monotone converge to \(\varphi\) if \(P_\omega(\inf_{l \ge j} \varphi_l)\) increases to \(\varphi\). It is shown in the paper that this new notion is stronger than convergence in capacity. Comparisons to other known notions of convergence are also done.
