Cyclic homology via derived functors. (Q607287)

The aim of this paper is to show how cyclic homology (as well as periodic cyclic and negative cyclic homologies) of a (non-unital) associative algebra over a commutative ring containing the field \(\mathbb Q\), can be described, in certain cases, in terms of cotriple derived functors. As applications, the authors obtain an axiomatic description and Hopf type formulas for cyclic homology [see \textit{G. J. Ellis}, Cah. Topologie Géom. Différ.
