This paper aims to analyze the nonlinear vibration and instability of a sandwich plate with an auxetic honeycomb core and a Carbon Nanotube Reinforced Composite (CNTRC) face layer on a viscous elastic foundation under parametric excitation. This is achieved by using the first shear deformation plate theory and applying the nonlinear von Karman approach to calculate the equation of motion. A Galerkin method is employed to convert the PDEs of motion into an ODE of motion. The resulting equation is solved using the multiple time scale method. Moreover, the influence of the auxetic core characteristics, thermal increments, CNT's reinforcement and volume fraction, foundation properties, and geometric parameters of sandwich plates are discussed in detail. Extensive numerical data are presented in tabular and graphical form for direct use by the practising engineers.
