This paper develops the advanced plate theory for the vibration analysis of graphene-reinforced composite plates with a macro fiber composite piezoelectric layer. The proposed plate theory incorporates a modified interlaminar shear stress field that accounts for the electromechanical properties. The developed plate model offers an improved interlaminar shear stress field, which incorporates electromechanical characteristics. The proposed model is assessed by comparing with 3D solutions and results with those obtained from other models. The authors claim that the results calculated by the developed theory in this paper are reliable and more accurate. The reviewer is of the opinion that such a statement is rather vague. The authors should have presented a detailed study on `the accuracy of the numerical results' indicating a percentage error and also whether the results obtained are `upper bound' or `lower bound' to the exact values. Extensive numerical results are presented in tabular and graphical form. The paper is useful in view of the rapid development of smart materials and their extensive use.
