The new universal embedding model for visually meaningful image encryption divides the host domain into four embedded domains, using a general embedding formula. The numbers of embedded bits for each domain are adjustable and the optimal numbers of embedded bits for the four domains are determined. This model can be used to encrypt plain images of larger sizes in a lossless way, unlike existing algorithms. Simulation results show superior PSNR, SSIM, and NCC values compared to existing algorithms. Moreover, the new approach enjoys lower computational complexity.
