    Let \(\Omega\) be a smooth and bounded convex domain of \(\mathbb{R}^n\), \(n\ge 2\), and consider the chemotaxis system with logistic growth \begin{align*} \partial_t u & = \operatorname{div}\big( \nabla u - \chi u \nabla v \big) + a u - \mu u^2\text{ in } (0,\infty)\times\Omega,\\ \tau \partial_t v & = \Delta v - \beta v + \alpha u\text{ in } (0,\infty)\times\Omega, \\ \nabla u\cdot \mathbf{n} &= |u|^p, \quad \nabla v\cdot\mathbf{n} = 0\text{ on } (0,\infty)\times\partial\Omega, \end{align*} supplemented with non-negative initial conditions \((u_0,v_0)\in C^2(\bar{\Omega},\mathbb{R} ^2)\). The parameters satisfy \((\alpha,\beta,a,\mu)\in (0,\infty)^4\), \(\tau\ge 0\), \(\chi\in\mathbb{R}\), and \(p>1\). It is known that a sufficiently large value of \(\mu\) prevents finite time blow-up of solutions to the above system, when \(u\) also satisfies homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions, and that a unique non-negative global classical solution exists in that case. The purpose is here to determine for which values of \(p\) this result remains valid. When \(\tau=0\), a unique non-negative global classical solution is shown to exist when, either \(\mu>\chi\alpha(n-2)/n\), \(p\in (1,3/2)\), and \(n\ge 2\), or \(\mu=\chi\alpha(n-2)/n\), \(p\in (1,(n+1)/n)\), and \(n\ge 3\). When \(\tau=1\), the same result is valid for all \((\mu,p)\in (0,\infty)\times (1,3/2)\) when \(n=2\) and for \(p\in (1,7/5)\) and \(\mu\) sufficiently large when \(n=3\).
