A bubble (of compressible ideal gas) is immersed in a fluid (an incompressible Newtonian liquid). The studied model involves simplifications of the dynamics of the bubble: the authors assume spherical symmetry and uniformity of the gas pressure, as well as the mass conservation. A linearized problem is then shown to be exponentially stable by spectral analysis, based on the Fourier method and Laplace transform. The authors also obtain explicit decay rates. Furthermore, the existence of nonlinearly stable periodic solutions is shown under the influence of periodically oscillating far-field pressure.
