A \textit{multisection} of a closed PL \(n\)-manifold \(X\) is a decomposition of \(X\) into \(k\) \(n\)-dimensional \(1\)-handlebodies \(X_i\), where \(n=2k-1\) or \(n=2k-2\), such that intersections of the handlebodies have spines of small dimensions. We write that \(X=\cup _{i \in \mathbb{Z}_k} {X_i}\). It generalizes the notions of Heegaard splittings of \(3\)-manifolds and trisections of \(4\)-manifolds into higher dimensions. Let \(g\) be the maximum of genus of handlebodies \(X_i, i \in \mathbb{Z}_k\). The \textit{efficiency} of a multisection \(X\) is defined as the ratio of \((1+\)rank \(\pi_1(X))\) to \((1+g)\). Further, \(X\) is said to be \textit{efficient} if its efficiency is \(1\). In the article, the author proves that if a multisection \(X=\cup _{i \in \mathbb{Z}_k} {X_i}\) is efficient then the genus of all \(X_i\) coincides and is equal to rank \(\pi_1(X)\). The main result of the article provides a construction of an efficient multisection for each odd-dimensional torus \(T_n\) which is symmetric with respect to the permutation action on the indices and the translation action on the main diagonal. A manifold is said to admit a \textit{generalised} \textit{cubulation} if it has a cube-like cell structure where self-identifications along the faces are allowed. And, the manifold is said to admit a \textit{directed} \textit{cubulation} if the cells are glued in a particular nice way. Further, the author constructs a multisection for odd-dimensional manifolds admitting a directed cubulation.
