If \(F\) is a field of characteristic different from two and \(E\) is the Grassmann algebra of an infinite-dimensional \(F\)-vector space \(L\), then there is a natural grading of \(E\) by \(\mathbb Z_2.\) If \(E_{can}\) denotes \(E\), taken with this natural grading, and if \(E_\phi\) denotes \(E\), taken with any other \(\mathbb Z_2\)-grading, the authors characterize \(E_\phi\) and \(E_{can}\) as being isomorphic (as superalgebras) by a condition on \(\mathbb Z_2\)-graded polynomial identities. \textit{A. de A. Guimarães} and \textit{P. Koshlukov} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 227, No. 1, Article ID 107166, 20 p. (2023; Zbl 1528.16037)] introduced a four-type classification of \(\mathbb Z_2\)-gradings of \(E\) and asked whether a grading of the fourth type exists. The authors of the present paper construct a \(\mathbb Z_2\)-grading of \(E\) which is of the fourth type.
