Eliashberg et al. introduced a potential \(\mathbf{H}\) which encapsulates a signed count of elements of moduli spaces of \(J\)-holomorphic curves, and satisfies the master equation \(\mathbf{H} \cdot \mathbf{H} = 0\), where \(\cdot\) denotes the product in the corresponding Weyl super-algebra; cf. Theorem 2.2.2 in [\textit{Y. Eliashberg} et al., in: GAFA 2000. Visions in mathematics -- Towards 2000. Proceedings of a meeting, Tel Aviv, Israel, August 25--September 3, 1999. Part II. Basel: Birkhäuser. 560--673 (2000; Zbl 0989.81114)]. In the paper under review, the author recalls that this algebraic definition of \(\mathbf{H}\) is not compatible with the orientation conventions considered in [\textit{F. Bourgeois} and \textit{K. Mohnke}, Math. Z. 248, No. 1, 123--146 (2004; Zbl 1060.53080)] and [\textit{M. Hutchings} and \textit{C. H. Taubes}, J. Symplectic Geom. 7, No. 1, 29--133 (2009; Zbl 1193.53183)] which affect the gluing map of the Cauchy-Riemann tuples. The author corrects the signs of \(\mathbf{H}\) so that they match with the latter convention and, assuming transversality, proves that the master equation holds.
