The main object of operator in this paper is the weighted shift \(S(a,b,c,d)\), with weight sequence \(\alpha= \lbrace \alpha_{n} \rbrace_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \) , \(\alpha_{n}:=\sqrt{\frac{an+b}{cn+d}}\), \(a,b,c,d>0\), \(ad>bc.\) Considering the one-step backward extension \(\alpha(x)\) of \(\alpha\) given by \(\alpha(x): x,\alpha_{0},\alpha_{1},...\)and denoting \(S(x;a.b.c.d)\) the associated shift with such a sequence \(\alpha(x),\) the results of the paper under review refer to \(S(x,a,b,c,d).\) Thus, some equivalent conditions for the \(n\)-\textit{hyponormality} and \(n\)-\textit{contractivity} of the shift \(S(x,a,b,c,d),\) which may induce the known results about Agler shifts, Bergman-like shifts and Catalan-like weighted shifts are obtained.
