In this nice and clearly written paper the authors show that the Cremona group of rank 2 over a finite field is Jordan. A group \(\Gamma\) is \textit{Jordan} if there exists a constant \(J = J(\Gamma)\) such that any finite subgroup of \(\Gamma\) contains a normal abelian subgroup of index at most \(J\). They also provide an upper bound for its Jordan constant which is sharp when the number of elements in the field is different from \(2, 4\), and \(8\). Firstly they use estimation of finite authomorphism order using Galous theory argument, then resolution of singularities and \(G\)-Minimal Model Program. Note that positive characteristics reduction is used in polynomial automorphism theory (see [\textit{Y. Tsuchimoto}, Mem. Fac. Sci., Kochi Univ., Ser. A 24, 43--59 (2003; Zbl 1059.16023); \textit{A. Phys. 74, No. 2, 181--199 (2005; Zbl 1081.16031)]).
