The authors are concerned with an initial-boundary value problem attached to a semi-stationary isentropic compressible Stokes problem on a 2D or 3D bounded domain. They rely on a Galerkin discontinuous finite element method (DG FEM). This DG-FEM is based on the Bernardi-Raguel scheme. First, the convergence of a mixed DG-FEM solution to the weak solution of the system is proved. Then an estimation of the error between the mixed DG-FEM solution and the strong solution of the considered Stokes system is carried out. The convergence is proved by compactness arguments, and the unconditional error estimation is based on the relative energy functional method. This second result requires an additional condition for the adiabatic exponent. No example of actual operation of the proposed method is presented.
