    This article studies a taxis system where taxis is induced by signal-dependence of the motility function and where the signal \(v\) is consumed. If in the Neumann problem in a bounded \(n\)-dimensional domain for \begin{align*} u_t &= \Delta (u^m\phi(v))\\ v_t &= \Delta v - uv \end{align*} for widely arbitrary positive \(\phi\) the exponent satisfies \(m>\frac{n}{2}\), there is a global weak solution which is uniformly bounded.
