The authors study the dynamics of the unicritical polynomials \(f_c: z\to z^d+c\), where \(c\) is a complex number. Until recently, the dynamical theory of the quadratic family was developed much deeper than that of the higher degree case. An important special feature of the quadratic maps is the decay of geometry of the principal nest. In this paper, the authors show that, though in the higher degree case this property fails in general, it is satisfied for almost all non-regular non-infinitely renormalizable parameters. This is the key to the results obtained in the paper. Based on controlling the spacing between consecutive elements in the ``principal nest'' of parapuzzle pieces, the authors prove the following important results. For Lebesgue almost every complex paprameter \(c\), the map \(f_c\) is either hyperbolic or infinitely renormalizable. For Lebesgue almost every real paprameter \(c\), the map \(f_c\) is either hyperbolic, or Collet-Eckmann, or infinitely renormalizable.
