The authors show in the paper that the bilinear operator \[ \tilde B_{\Omega,\alpha}(f,g)(x)= \int_{\mathbb R^n} f(x+y)g(x-y)\frac{\Omega(x,y')}{|y|^{n-\alpha}} dy \] where \(0<\alpha<n\), \(\Omega\) is homogeneous of degree zero on the \(y\) variable and \(\Omega \in L^\infty(\mathbb R^n, L^s(S^{n-1}))\) for some \(s\geq 1\) is bounded from \(L^{p_1}(\mathbb R^n)\times L^{p_2}(\mathbb R^n)\) into \(L^p(\mathbb R^n\) for \(\frac{1}{p}= \frac{1}{p_1}+\frac{1}{p_2}-\frac{\alpha}{n}>0\), \(s'< \min\{p_1,p_2\}\) and \( s>n/(n-\alpha)\). They get the weak type estimate in the case \(p_1=p_2= s'\) and obtain the rest by interpolation. This result improves some previous results by \textit{Y. Ding} and \textit{C.-C. Lin} [Math. Nachr. 246--247, 47--52 (2002; Zbl 1055.42007)] for the case of rough bilinear fractional integrals.
