In this paper, the authors consider a class of planar piecewise linear differential systems with a nonregular separation line, which can be transformed to a normal form with only five parameters under some conditions. They study the coexistence of crossing limit cycles and sliding limit cycles by establishing Poincaré maps for two subsystems having the same Jacobi matrix. Furthermore, they analyze the existence of pseudo-equilibria and heteroclinic orbits. The authors prove that the maximum number of crossing limit cycles and sliding limit cycles is two, moreover the coexistence number of limit cycles is three. In addition, they prove that systems studied present critical crossing cycle and saddle-node bifurcations depending on parameters value. In order to illustrate part of the results, four numerical examples are presented.
