Consider the cubic system \[ \begin{aligned} \dot{x}&=-(a+1)\,y+a\,x^{2}y+b\,xy^{2}+c\,y^{3},\\ \dot{y}&=-\tfrac{1}{2}x-d\,y+\tfrac{1}{2}x^{3}+d\,x^{2}y+e\,x y^{2}+f\,y^{3}.\end{aligned} \] The first six focal values at the singular points \((1,0),(-1,0)\) are zero if and only the coefficients satisfy one of 11 sets of conditions. The first set implies that the system is a Hamiltonian system and was considered earlier. In this paper, the authors study the bifurcation of limit cycles in the remaining ten sets of conditions. It is shown that different sets of conditions have different number of limit cycles. The maximal number is shown to be 10.
