Quadratic-phase orthonormal wavelets (Q6111567)

The paper introduces a particular multiresolution analysis based on the concept of quadratic-phase Fourier transform, which is a generalization of different integral transforms, including the Fourier transform. The kernel of the transform is likewise an exponential function with additional parameters, a so-called quadratic phase function, and reduces in a special case to the Fourier transform. The transform is also invertible. A multiresolution analysis is then proposed and quadratic-phase orthogonal wavelets are constructed. A mother wavelet is derived from the underlying scaling functions. Their properties, including refinement relations, are then analyzed.
