The present paper is a continuation of papers [\textit{N. Andruskiewitsch} and \textit{G. Sanmarco}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc., Ser. B 8, 296--329 (2021; Zbl 1484.16041)] and [\textit{I. Angiono} et al., ``Finite GK-dimensional pre-Nichols algebras of super and standard type'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:2009.04863}]. They contribute to the problem classification of Hopf algebras with finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. The authors focus on pointed Hopf algebras. To such algebras a list of invariants is associated, in particular the so called the infinitesimal braiding, some diagram, and a post Nichols algebra. Thus a problem of classification of such algebras arises. The problem of classification of post Nichols algebras can be rephrased in the terms of pre-Nichols algebras. In the paper under review the authors show that every finite GK-dimensional pre-Nichols algebra for braidings of the so called diagonal type with connected diagram of the so called modular, supermodular or unidentified types is a quotient of the distinguished pre-Nichols algebra introduced by the first-named author, up to two exceptions.
