Lüroth showed that for any \(x\in(0,1]\) there is a uniquely defined sequence of natural numbers \((d_n)_{n\ge1}\) with \(d_n\ge2\) for each \(n\) satisfying \[x=\frac{1}{d_1}+\frac{1}{d_1(d_1-1)d_2}+\cdots+\frac{1}{d_1(d_1-1)\cdots d_{n-1}(d_{n-1}-1)d_n},\] with \(n\)th convergent defined by \[\frac{p_n}{q_n}=\frac{1}{d_1}+\sum_{j=2}^n\frac{1}{d_1(d_1-1)\cdots d_{j-1}(d_{j-1}-1)d_j}.\] The theory of these Lüroth expansions parallels much of the standard continued fraction expansion, and in particular there is an associated Lüroth map that facilitates the statistical properties of the digits and the convergents. Here the `relative growth rate' of the digits, comparing the product of blocks of digits \(d_i\) with \(q_n\), is studied and the Hausdorff dimension of sets of exceptional points with a prescribed relative growth rate is computed. These results extend work on special cases by \textit{J. Feng} and \textit{J. Xu} [Nonlinearity 34, No. 3, 1598--1611 (2021; Zbl 1473.11153)].
