This paper investigates how to get an asymptotic representation of the solutions of real singularly perturbed linear systems writing \[ \varepsilon B(t,\varepsilon)\dot{x} = A(t,\varepsilon)x. \] \(A,\:B\) are power series of the \(\varepsilon\) parameter near \(\varepsilon=0\). The authors describe an algorithm of constructing a basis of asymptotic solutions, using the technique of joining initiated by Wasow in the eighties, combined with more recent results on matrix pencils from the linear DAEs theory (Kronecker form, works by Kunkel, Mehrmann, März or Campbell). Their main theorems 1 and 2 are effective: two asymptotic solutions are joined near a turning point at \((0,0)\). This is an interesting paper to read, as it mixes classical analysis for the asymptotic part study (convergence of the solution basis in powers of \(\varepsilon\)) and linear algebra to get a decomposition of the initial system into a pseudo-diagonal form -- at the turning point.
