The main goal of the paper is to obtain an equivalent condition for subsets of \(L^p\)-spaces on metric measure spaces to be compact. The result obtained is a generalization of the Kolmogorov-Riesz theorem which is useful for characterizing compact sets in \(L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)\). Additionally, it is proved that LIP\(_b(X)\) is a \(\sigma\)-compact subset of \(L^p(X)\) containing topological copies of \(\mathbb{Q}\) under certain assumptions. Here note that LIP\(_b(X) = \{f \in \mbox{LIP}(X) : f \mbox{ has a bounded support}\}\), where LIP\((X)\) is the subspace in \(L^p(X)\) consisting of Lipschitz maps.
