For a holomorphic function \(f\) defined in the complement \(D^*\) of the unit disk \(D\) with \( f(z)= z+ \text{ const } + O(1/z)\) in a neighborhood of \(\infty\) the expansion \[ \log\frac{f(z)-f(\zeta)}{z- \zeta}= -\sum_{m,n=1}^{\infty} \alpha_{m,n} \,z^{-m} \zeta^{-n},\quad (z,\zeta) \in (D^*)^2, \] defines the Grunsky coefficients \( \alpha_{m,n}\) of \(f(z).\) The Grunsky norm is \[ \kappa(f)=\sup \left\{\left | \sum_{m,n=1}^{\infty} \sqrt{m n}\,\alpha_{m,n}x_m x_n\right | : \sum_1^{\infty}|x_n|^2 \le 1 \right\}. \] Univalent functions \( f(z)= z+ b_0+ b_1 z^{-1}+ \dots\) in \(D^*\) admitting quasiconformal extensions across the unit circle \(\partial D\) onto the the unit disk \(D\) form the class \(\Sigma_Q.\) For the Grunsky norm of a function in the class \(\Sigma_Q\), the author proves a lower bound involving the Beltrami coefficients of the quasiconformal extensions and gives some applications of this result. The lower bound improves somes earlier related work of the author.
