Quantitative characterizations of bounded compact approximation property by semi-Fredholm operators (Q6113509)

As the abstract explains, the authors introduce and investigate a new quantity to characterize upper semi-Fredholm operators. The work is motivated by a characterization of upper semi-Fredholm operators due to \textit{A.~Lebow} and \textit{M.~Schechter} [J. Funct. Anal. 7, 1--26 (1971; Zbl 0209.45002)]. This new quantity and several other quantities are used to characterize the bounded compact approximation property. A parallel quantity characterizing lower semi-Fredholm operators is also introduced, investigated and used to characterize the bounded compact approximation property for dual spaces.
