Let \(X\) be a smooth scheme over a perfect field \(k\) of characteristic \(p > 0\) and \(D\subset X\) a normal crossing divisor. Denote by \((X^\prime, D^\prime)/k\) the base change of the pair \((X, D)/k\) via the Frobenius automorphism of \(\text{Spec}(k)\), by \(D^+(X)\) the bounded below derived category of \(\mathcal O_X\)-modules, and by \(F=F_{X/k}\) the relative Frobenius map of \(X\) over the ground field. Let \(\tau_{<p} F_\ast\Omega^\ast_{X/k}(\log D)\) be the truncated at degrees \(<p\) relative logarithmic de Rham complex. It is known that there is a cohomological Hodge decomposition of this complex in the category \(D^+(X)\) (see [\textit{P. Deligne} and \textit{L. Illusie}, Invent. Math. 89, 247--270 (1987; Zbl 0632.14017)]). Denote by \(W\) the classical weight filtration on the logarithmic de Rham complex. Under certain assumptions the author describes a similar decomposition of the complex \((\tau_{<p} F_\ast\Omega^\ast_{X/k}(\log D), W)\) in the derived category \(D^+F(X^\prime)\) in terms of the filtered logarithmic de Rham complex associated with \((X^\prime, D^\prime)/k\) and endowed with the corresponding weight filtration. He also remarks that one can regard it as a variant of the mixed Hodge decomposition in positive characteristic in view of [\textit{P. Deligne}, Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 44, 5--77 (1974; Zbl 0237.14003)], [\textit{J.-M. Fontaine} and \textit{G. Laffaille}, Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 15, 547--608 (1982; Zbl 0579.14037)]. In addition, some types of vanishing theorems are also discussed (see [\textit{L. Illusie}, Frobenius and Hodge degeneration, in: \textit{J. Bertin} et al., Introduction à la théorie de Hodge. Paris: Société Mathématique de France (1996; Zbl 0849.14002), pp. 96--145]).
