The authors study the problems on the density of integers \(a,b\) such that expressions of type \(a^4 + b^3\) are squarefree on assuming certain conditions on \(a\) and \(b\). They use the ideas from a paper by \textit{M. Bhargava} et al. [Invent. Math. 228, No. 3, 1037--1073 (2022; Zbl 1492.11150)], combined with the circle method and Selberg's sieve; as well as the ``Bhargava averaging trick''. We quote the following result: Let \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) be fixed nonzero integers, such that \(\mathrm{gcd}(\alpha, \beta)\) is squarefree. Then the cardinal of such pairs \((a,b)\) of integers such that the maximum of modules of \(a^{1/3}\) and \(b^{1/4}\) is \(<X\) and \(\beta{a}^{4} + \alpha{b}^{3}\) is squarefree is equal to \(C\cdot X^{7} + O(X^{k})\), where \(k=6.992+ \varepsilon\), and the constant \(C\) depends only on \(\alpha ,\beta\).
