Summary: Manifolds with torus boundary have played a special role in the study of Floer homology for 3-manifolds since the early days of the subject. In joint work with Jonathan Hanselman and Liam Watson, we defined a geometrical Heegaard Floer invariant for 3-manifolds with torus boundary [\textit{J. Hanselman} et al., J. Am. Math. Soc. 37, No. 2, 391--498 (2024; Zbl 07798119) and Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 125, No. 4, 879--967 (2022; Zbl 1530.57018)]. The invariant is a reformulation of the bordered Floer homology of Lipshitz, Ozsváth, and Thurston [\textit{R. Lipshitz} et al., Bordered Heegaard Floer homology. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2018; Zbl 1422.57080)], and takes the form of a collection of immersed closed curves (possibly decorated with local systems) in a covering space of the punctured torus. We briefly discuss the construction of the invariant and some applications to the L-space conjecture of Boyer-Gordon-Watson [\textit{S. Boyer} et al., Math. Ann. 356, No. 4, 1213--1245 (2013; Zbl 1279.57008)] and Juhász [\textit{A. Juhász}, Ser. Knots Everything 56, 237--296 (2015; Zbl 1315.57002)]. We then describe a generalization to manifolds with sutured boundary, and some applications to the study of satellite knots. For the entire collection see [Zbl 07816358].
