Suppose that \(f\) is a Fourier series such that \( f= \sum_{n=0}^{\infty} a(n)q^n \). Then \(f\) is called lacunary if the arithmetic density of its zero coefficients is one. Furthermore, a lacunary series is called well lacunary if \(a(n)\) assumes every integer value infinitely often. In the paper under review, the author shows that each modular form of weight one is well lacunary provided that certain special values can be attained. He also constructs a family of well lacunary series via binary quadratic forms which can also be expressed in terms of very nice Dedekind eta-quotients.
