A Markus-Yannabe piecewise linear differential system in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) is a differential system of the form \(\dot{x}=A^+x+b^+\), if \(x_1\geq 0\) and \(=A^-x+b^-\), if \(x_1\leq0,\) where \(x=(x_1, x_2, \cdots,x_n)^T\), the matrices \(A^+\) and \(A^-\) are Hurwitz and either one of the systems \(\dot{x}=A^+x+b^+\) and \(\dot{x}=A^-x+b^-\) has a real equilibrium point, or both systems have the same equilibrium of the form \(x(0, x_2, \cdots, x_n)\). Then we say that it is separated by the hyperplane \(\{0, x_2, \cdots, x_n): \quad x_2, x_3, \cdots, x_n\in\mathbb{R}\}\). In this interesting paper the authors show that for all \(n\geq 2\) there are discontinuous Markus-Yannabe piecewise linear differential systems separated by a hyperplane \(C(x)\) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), for which their equilibrium point is not a global attractor. The proofs are given by using suitable countererexamples.
