In order to classify finite-dimensional modules of a finite-dimensional self-injective algebra \(\Lambda\) over a field \(k\), one must determine all indecomposables and the morphisms between them. Although this is a hopeless problem, especially if \(\Lambda\) has wild representation type, the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver is an important invariant of the module category of \(\Lambda\). Its vertices correspond to the non-projective indecomposables and the arrows are given by certain irreducible maps. J.-N. Thiel is interested in components of the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver of a finite group scheme over a field \(k\) of characteristic \(p\). When \(p\geq 3\), the author shows that the presence of a nontrivial unipotent normal subgroup implies that a certain tree is not Euclidean. In case of a finite group, which is a special instance of a finite group scheme, the author obtains an alternative proof of Okuyama's theorem. Further applications are given in the contexts of trigonalizable group schemes, Frobenius kernels of (reductive) algebraic groups and for finite group schemes with tame principal block.
