Suppose that \(q>2^{12}\) is an odd prime power. Assume that \(K\) be a real quadratic field extension of \(k=\mathbb{F}_q(t)\) of class number one, \(A\) be the integral closure of \(k\) in \(K\), \(Gal(K:k)=\{\sigma_1,\sigma_2\}\). Suppose \((x_1,x_2)\in K^2\setminus (\sigma_1(K),\sigma_2(K))\). Then for every \(\varepsilon>0\) there exist infinitely many elements \(a/\pi\in K\) with \(a,\pi\in A\) and prime \(\pi\) such that for \(i=1,2\) \[ \left| x_i-\frac{\sigma_i(a)}{\sigma_i(\pi)}\right| \leq \mathcal{N}(\pi)^{-\frac{5}{8}+\log_q\sqrt{2}+\varepsilon}. \] This result can be considered as a functional analogue of the inequality \(||p\alpha||<p^{-\theta+\varepsilon}\) for irrational \(\alpha\) and infinitely many prime \(p\) with some \(\theta\).
