The paper presents an homogenization result for the Poisson equation posed in a 2D domain with multilevel junctions. The domain \(\Omega_\varepsilon\) consists of a fixed domain \(\Omega_0=\{0<x_1<a\), \(0<x_2<\gamma (x_1)\}\), for a smooth curve \(\gamma \), and of the union of two kinds of rectangles. The first (resp. second) ones are \(\varepsilon\)-periodically distributed with respect to \(x_1\) and have thinness equal to \(\varepsilon h_1/2\) (resp. \(\varepsilon h_2/2\)) in the \(x_1\)-direction and length \( \varepsilon^{\alpha} l_1\) (resp. \(l_2\)) in the \(x_2\)-direction. Both are located in the lower half-plane \(x_2<0\). The Poisson equation \(-\Delta u_\varepsilon= f_\varepsilon\) is posed in \(\Omega_\varepsilon\). Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions are imposed on the different pieces of the boundary of \(\Omega_\varepsilon\), with data possibly depending on \(\varepsilon \). The authors first define the notion of weak solution for this boundary value problem. The main result of the paper establishes the convergence in \(\Omega_0\) of the weak solution \(u_{\varepsilon }\) of the original Poisson problem to that \(v_0^+\) of Poisson equation, and the convergence of the extension by zero in \((0,a)\times (-l_2,0)\) of the solution \(u_\varepsilon\) of the original problem to the solution \( v_0^-\) of a second-order partial differential equation with transmission conditions connected to the previous limit solution \(v_0^+\). Appropriate hypotheses on the data of the original problem are here imposed. The first part of the proof of this convergence result consists to obtain uniform estimates on the solution \(u_\varepsilon\). Then the authors introduce the solution of auxiliary problems and describe their properties.
