In [Elem.\ Math.\ 6, 97--106 (1951)], \textit{H. Hadwiger} and \textit{P. Glur} described exactly when one of two planar (but not necessarily convex) polygons can be dissected into sub-polygons, which can then be moved rigidly and re-assembled to form the other. In fact, only translations and half-turns are needed, and there is a straightforward condition which allows for translations alone. (Curiously, in describing this result, the author initially omits the condition of equality of area, which is all that is needed if half-turns are permitted.) In this note, a tribute to the centenary of the Swiss Mathematical Society and to Hadwiger, the author surveys variants of the original result. For example, one may insist that the pieces be hinged together, possibly with twisting, or one may allow foldings. The article is generously illustrated.
