Let \({\mathcal B}(X)\) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on an infinite-dimensional complex Banach space \(X\). For any operator \(T\in{\mathcal B}(X)\), let \(\sigma_{a}(T)\) be its approximate point spectrum and \[\text{asc}(T):=\inf\{n\ge0:\ker(T^n)=\ker(T^{n+1})\}\] be its ascent. The spectral domain of \(T\) is then defined by \[\sigma_\gamma(T):=\left\{\lambda\in\sigma_{a}(T):T-\lambda\text{ is semi-Fredholm and }\text{asc}(T-\lambda)<\infty\right\}.\] In the paper under review, the author obtains a complete characterization of all additive surjective maps \(\varphi\) on \({\mathcal B}(X)\) satisfying \(\sigma_\gamma(\varphi(T))=\sigma_\gamma(T)\) for all \(T\in{\mathcal B}(X)\).
